I recently came across this TED TALK from Krista Tippet called 'reconnecting with compassion'. As I listen to Krista, I look through a spreadsheet of illustrative convergence initiatives gathered by GreenDependent in Hungary for this project. I realise I am holding a list of acts of compassion; examples of an active persuit of fairness within planetary limits. Convergence is absolutely about sustainability, and sustainable development, but it has a human face. It goes beyond the creation of a system whereby "people are not systematically hindered in meeting their basic needs", to a celebration of our shared humanity wherby global neighbours are proactively sharing their blessings.
